This blood tests, works very well along with other antibodies to investigate inappropriate
blood clot formations, and of recurrent miscarriages, especially in the 2nd or 3rd trimesters.
The Anti- beta2 Glycoprotein IgG detects and measures one of more classes of IgG, IgM or on rare occasions IgA of beta2 Glycoprotein 1 antibodies, this blood test is one of three primary antiphospholipid antibodies, which are Autoantibodies.
Antiphospholipid antibodies interfere with our body's blood clotting process, increasing a persons risk of developing inappropriate blood clots, in both our arteries and veins.
Symptoms suggestive to having a blood clot:-
Pain & Swelling in Hands & Feet
Shortness of Breath
Headaches.
Antiphospholipid antibodies may also be detected in the circulation of people who have other autoimmune disorders, such as Lupus.
If beta2-Glycoprotein 1 antibody is detected in your blood, this blood test will be repeated 12 weeks later, to see whether it's presence is persistent or temporary.
Beta2-Glycoprotein 1 antibodies are seen more in people who have antiphospholipid syndrome-APS.
